Lessons Learned Lab™

Your team learns things they never use again.

Lessons learned get captured, shelved, or skipped entirely. Rarely do they change how the next effort runs. The Lessons Learned Lab™ closes that gap — whether the effort is done or still underway — built around your team size, the complexity of the effort, and your timeline, so pricing reflects exactly what your organization needs. It's Nina's proprietary approach to change management, and it supports benefits realization too — acting on what a team learns is what helps sustain the outcomes an effort was meant to deliver.

The Lessons Learned Lab™ is one of three ways CROSSING CHANGE helps organizations turn experience into execution. See how the system works together →

Leaders bring CROSSING CHANGE in at moments like these

Across government agencies at all levels, nonprofits, faith-based organizations, and private sector organizations.

An effort just ended — or is still in progress — and the team needs to look at what they're learning and decide what to do with it.
The same problems keep showing up across efforts — and no one can explain why.
A new leader stepped in and needs to understand what was learned before moving forward.
A strategic review, offsite, or leadership retreat is approaching — and the team needs what they've learned to shape what comes next.
The organization is at a milestone — a five or ten-year anniversary — and wants to reflect on what it has built, what it has learned, and where it goes next.
Leadership knows something needs to change — and suspects the answer is already inside the organization.
The work is still happening — and the team is learning things that need to be captured and acted on now, while there's still time.

A guided session that turns experience into action

Nina guides. Your team brings what they know. The reflection and the hard conversations are where the real work happens — and that's where Nina's skill does its most important work. You leave with a clear action plan. Labs are delivered virtually or in person.

Right voices in the room.
Nina works with you beforehand to identify who needs to be there.
Structured reflection.
Surfaces what worked, what didn't, and what the team would do differently.
A road map, not just notes.
Prioritized actions, owners, and next steps — not a document that sits on a shelf.
Follow-through built in.
Nina follows up to check on progress after the session ends.

Before you reach out

A Lab can happen at any important point in the work — during a major milestone, a leadership transition, a strategy review, or after a large effort ends. Most organizations already have several moments where a Lab could help.

A standard Lessons Learned Lab™ is usually a three-hour workshop, though each Lab is customized to fit the team's needs. Team members receive preparation materials ahead of time. Labs can happen virtually or in person. By the end, the team leaves with a clear action plan, assigned ownership, and next steps they can use right away.

Most facilitators lead a conversation and then leave. A Lessons Learned Lab™ goes further by helping the team turn lessons into action and helping those changes continue after the session ends. The work focuses on facilitation, execution, and adoption together.

Both are common. Some organizations run a single Lab and have what they need. Others bring Nina back for future efforts, or choose to build the PRAE Cadence™ — Pause, Reflect, Act, Evolve — directly into how they operate, so reflection becomes routine instead of a one-time event.

The people doing the work and the people influencing it should be included. That may include leaders, team members, and important stakeholders connected to the effort.

Yes. Existing lessons are often a strong starting point. Nina works with organizations to review what has already been captured and determine the best next step. Some organizations may need a full Lessons Learned Lab™, while others may be ready to move forward on their own using the ACTIVATE System™ — Nina's proprietary six-step process with practical tools and guides that help teams turn lessons into real action. No. A Lab is designed to work around the work, not stop it. The team reflects, surfaces what they're learning, and walks away with a clear action plan — then goes back to work, except now they know what to do differently. Nina follows up afterward to check on progress, and if the team wants to keep activating lessons independently, the ACTIVATE System™ is built for exactly that.

The first step is a 30-minute conversation. Nina will ask about your organization, what you're trying to accomplish, and the effort you want to review. From there, she'll tell you exactly what the engagement would look like and whether it's the right fit.

Your next effort doesn't have to start from zero.

In 30 minutes, you can see where your organization's lessons are being missed.

Every Lab is scoped to your organization. Pricing reflects that.
